Question

How can I sort student results by campus?

Answer

When populating a unit with students, VUSIS also delivers student campus information to the Group Manager. To view and change your unit's Group Manager configuration select 'Group Manager' under the TEACH tab.

Here's how to isolate any campus cohort in your unit:

1. Select the "TEACH" tab

2. Select "Gradebook " from the left menu

3. At the top right is a drop-down menu box called Gradebook Options. Click on the box and select 'Find Members'

4. On the search page that opens, ignore the top part and tick the box at bottom left labelled "Groups". Click the radio button for "Contains".

5. In the "Groups" selector box will be a list of all campus (and other) groups. Select all the campus groups you want - there may be several.

For weird and unfathomable reasons, there may be multiple groups for a single campus - e.g. Footscray 1, Footscray 2, etc - so just select all the relevant campus names even if some appear to have no students. Use Shift-click or Control-click so that ALL campus cohorts you want are selected.

7. Click the "Run Query" button at the bottom left of the page.

There you go - a list of gradebook results for your selected cohort. You also have the option of saving the list you have created. Just go to the bottom of the page and click "Export to Spreadsheet", follow the prompts and you will end up with an Excel csv file on your local machine. Save the csv file as an Excel workbook so that you have all the usual Excel formatting options available.  You will need them - the saved csv is one ugly file ... !
